My long hair just don't cover up my Red Neck

Today's Biker "Gang"

Recent news media stations are blowing this story about the stunt team in New York that lost some fellow riders. Though I feel for their fallen brethren, I can't help but put shame on them for hurting the "biker" image.
Chasing down a man that felt his family was in danger and from his discomfort fled from the group while running down riders. This is a terrible instance, but what in the hell where they doing in the road 50+ riders deep, surrounding the SUV? Anyone would feel the intimidation. I feel the SUV made the correct decision. The stunt teams actions towards the vehicle and it's driver were uncalled for. Along with what they do on a daily basis. "Stunting" all over the public streets for some YouTube entertainment. What a load of crap! Find a private parking lot and ask for permission to injure/ kill yourself there, not among the public, endangering their lives. It puts a negative outlook on all riders and forces a step back for organizations like A.B.A.T.E..
Groups of bikers for the cause of motorcycle awareness to the public. We need to swallow pride and not support these types of riders, and perhaps educate them on how to be a better "biker". Shame Shame... These organizations make a great effort to fight for the rights of all riders. Freedom for the roads we all use. Events like this making news does not help their cause. Even if you aren't a member, you still enjoy the freedoms they fight for.

Thoughts from home...

As I grabbed my caffeine and slammed it down this morning, I was aware of a post early this morning before I woke. It was my Friend and Brother trying to contact me from Towel Territory. His free time happens to land on my regeneration time. His time overseas has taken a little piece of him from the rest of us. I can tell by talking to him over the phone when I do get the chance. Although it bothers me and I know he has a cause for the greater good, I do wish he didn't have to suffer from the hell they go through to keep all of us safer here under the Red White and Blue. He will be home in February, soon enough I guess, and we can start up where we left off. Living a free life style and doing what we love.
The Socobros, as we are self titled, started a small garage operation creating custom bobber/ chopper's from old school Jap bikes. Although we both own our Harley's now, nothing beats stripping down a CB or an 'Ol Kow-a-saki. We share a passion, that is deeper than most can imagine, for motorcycles. I simply hope that when he comes home the shock of transferring back to enjoying freedom instead of fighting for it goes smoothly.

Just playing by the rules...

Great stuff from Helmet City
Bullet into Cement Wall... This is what it looks like to find out your brakes and tires need to be maintained yearly. Don't forget to inspect your ride before you put it away for the season. Even if you plan on riding for the big color tour, be sure you are safe after a long summer of riding. Be Safe! Rubber down...

2014 Indian

Polaris is probably not the first word you want to see as an Indian rider/ enthusiast, but the price tag and features of the three new models are something that Harley will have to counter for 2014. At the heart of these majestic reincarnations lies the "Thunderstroke 111". The new engine sports 49 degrees of air-cooled V twin attached to a 6-speed overdrive transmission. The 2014 Indian Chief Chieftain.
The Chieftain hard bagger, a first for the Indian brand. Though the valenced fenders and war bonnet chief logo on the front let you know that it's heritage is not forgotten. Classic downward pipes and left side intake also compliment the history from which this beauty has risen. New options such as a windshield that moves vertically within the front fairing and stock LED lighting boast a temperament that other brands have to fear.

New Beginnings are always the end to something worth leaving behind...

Today we change the world. How many times over have you had enough, but done nothing? Could that be why you are still working that dead end job? Maybe the thoughts we have should not be dismissed. Even writing them down is a simple start to materializing them. Take action, Not crap! Everything from your love life to the food you put in your body changes you a little inside. Every decision either strengthens or weakens the binding on your sanity for further decision making. Learn from your choices and settle on only making the positive ones. Some times the positive ones aren't always the shining star in the sky. Look at the path they could lead you and decide from the past how they affect you.
How does this babble apply to you? Simple... When is the last time you received a raise at your current workplace? Have you any idea what you should be making? Take a look into your career path and do some research. Statistics are available on numerous sites that will give you a good idea as to what you are worth. Maybe you are under payed and should ask for a raise that your employer expects you to ask for. Maybe you are not receiving the standard benefits your position has as a standard at other workplaces. Visit websites like Salary.com to see your self worth.
Simple decisions like choosing water over a soda once a day can improve your happiness over a short period of time as well. You may find that not having to depend on caffeine will save you time throughout the day. Eliminate the need for a heaping amount of Coca Cola in the afternoon, or the monstrous craving for coffee in the morning.
Growing into a happier you is a day to day process and can be as simple as dealing with problems "5 minutes at a time". Oh and smiling randomly really does stick if you apply it. Besides, it makes people wonder. LOL
